It's a Small World Out There

Oh man, what a day, Hi guys! Hope all of you have been more relaxed than I am =S. I've just had a really tiring day at work. Sheesh customers these days have not respect ¬¬ . Oh that's right, you don't really know where I work do you. Well, I work for a big company called Currys...you may of heard of it... ¬¬ . I'm a sales person there. Now, it's not the most easy job in the world, what with Christmas just around the corner, an people buying loads of gifts and looking for bargins (which, by the way, we don't have many of, yet.), it gets jam packed in the stores and there's no time to breath between customers. It takes its toll on you, and that's no understatement!

Anyways, I had one of the most interesting customer encounters I've had in a while. It came in the form of a girl, called Amina. Well, she came in to buy some ink cartridges for her printer. I first took notice when she said she was doing her A-levels. I had thought that she looked alot older than that. We had a little chat, and we got into the subject of college. Well, she said that she attends Valentines Sixth Form College. Now it was becoming interesting. This triggered a memory in the back of my mind, the memory of my good old friend Wahab, from year 4 lol. Now, it has been like 8 years since I've even heard from the guy, but I knew that he also attends Valentines sixth form. So I asked her if she knew him, and amazingly, she did! I wasn't expecting her to say yes, so when she did, I was quite surprised. To my dismay however, she informed me that he was no longer at valentines. I was quite looking forward to meeting up with him =(.This girl even knew some other people from my old primary school, and she even named a few!

Anywho, She then asked me which college I go to, and I said Havering Sixth form. This is what really hit me lol. She tells me that she had just recently met someone from my college only a few days ago, at the London School of Pharmacy open day. And who would it be? none other then my good friend Arry! I would have thought that this was too much of a coincidence, if she hadn't said his name first. Not only that, but she also knew about his recent interview, as she had also had one on the same day. She even knew what questions he was asked in the interview! She and Arry had obviously had a good chat on the day.

I was absolutely perplexed. At that very moment I thought that I was gonna put this in my blog, and here it is! That was pretty much the highlight of my day. How about it eh? She wasn't too bad looking either lol. I wonder if I'm gonna meet her again?.... Oh well, I guess that's it for tonight people. I'm gonna go and get some work done now. Remember, It's a small world out there, you never know who your going to bump into just round the corner.

I leave you tonight with this small but relevant message, that I think I learned from todays events:

"We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they are called memories. Some take us forward, they are called dreams."

 See ya later!

Doctor or Bust....

... That's how it was for me until a week ago!

Here's the story. Since the beginning, my parents have wanted me to become a doctor. It's like it was decided at birth, that this would be my fate. And so, my whole up-bringing has been geared towards making into a doctor. Obviously, my parents have tried to ensure that my academic skills are no less than elite, and they have been successful to an extent, but I think all that changes when it comes to A-levels. You can have all the natural talent in the world, but you still need to work your ass of to get A's in A-levels. And then there's my social life...or what's left of it. My parents have always absolutely HATED the idea of me having a social life because I could "get influenced" by others. Now, I don't know about you, but I agree with them in part, but I don't think that should mean to try and cut me off from society completely. Anyways, I was always held back from going out with my friends, be it to a party, down to the local park or even to their house! But I managed to slip some outings in here and there, so I got I survived.

However! Since I started college, believe it or not, they actually got more strict! Hard to believe, but sadly true. But that was only for a little while. Now, remember from my last post, I said that I got rejected from Bristol AND Queen Mary Unis for medicine? Well, it seems that this had quite a profound affect on my parents, and recently, they told me that I don't have to do medicine. You can imagine how I felt.....well, maybe not. I was absolutely dumbfounded! Here is a kid who, for his whole life, has been told that every other profession other than Medical was obsolete and would result in my life being ruined, and suddenly, I get told that "you know what we've been preparing you for your whole life, you don't have to do it anymore" .... I was infuriated as well as eternally relieved. This meant that I could finally relax! (well...just a bit, I still wanna do dentistry, which is almost as tough as medicine). They said to me that I can that or  do biomedical or something similar at a local university, and go into dentistry OR medicine as a graduate, which I think is reasonable. But they could have told me this like in the summer so I could have applied for those courses then! Now I have to wait a whole YEAR until I can reapply, which is a damn pain. But oh well, I'm just glad that they've finally seen reason. This will make my life that much easier from now on.

Well, I guess I better be off, I've got an infinite amount of revision to do for Core 3 Maths D= , ooh and there's that bloody biology coursework as well (This weekend is gonna be a busy one =S).
Catch ya later people!

=D

Hi people! This is a first time blog so don't expect it to be amazing for the first few posts. I have just discovered the delites of blogging thanks to my friend Aryy! Thanks mate. If you want to read his blog, you can at http://arryysworld.blogspot.com/

Now, where can I start? Well, my name is Syed Taha Ahmad, I'm 17 and im currently doing my A-levels >=(. You will probably hear about these again and again, because that's basically what my whole life is encircled around at the moment! I attend Havering Sixth Form College, where I study Chemistry, Biology and Maths at A2 level. My ultimate goal is to get three A's and do Medicine at University. However, that's not going exactly as planned =S. I got rejected from Bristol AND Queen Mary Universities D=. I did get accepted for biochemistry at Southampton Uni, but that's only my backup course, and I'll probably end up declining them.

That's it for today i guess. I will tryyy and post regularly, but no garuntees as I've tonnes of work to do. If you want to know more about me, your just going to have to wait =P. Until then, bye!
